SPORTING NEWS.
A.R.C. SUMMER MEETING
By the e.s. Tβ Anuu, which arrived this morning, the following racehorses were brought up from Christchurch and Napier to fulfil their engagements at the Auckland Racing Club Summer Meeting:—Tirailleur, Jet d'Eau, Renata, Fiesole, and the two-year-olds Reprisal, Vendetta, Pygmalion and Lullaby. Messrs S. H. Gollan, Percy Martin and Matthews were also passengers. There was some surprise to-day ab the non-arrival of the jumping horses Volcano and Chemist. It is stated that only the latter will fulfil his engagements, and he will be brought up next Monday. At Ellerslie this morning, the Cup candidates, Hilda and Raglan, performed satisfactory work. There is really no wagering on the Auckland Cup, but the following prices can be obtained :—5 to 2 Hilda, s'to* 1 Jet d'Eau and Cuirassier, 6 to 1 Leopold and Leorina, 8 to 1" Raglan and Lady Norah, 10 to 1 Renaba and Cissy, 100 to 8 Fabulous, 100 to 5 Loch A'ess.
