ORDINARY MEETING.
, Accounts. —The clerk stated thab £54 14s 9d had been collected since lasb meeting, while the overdraft stood ab £956 13s_ lOd. The amended balances of bhe various ridings were stated to be as follows :—Helonsville, £125 10a 6d; Waitakerei, £223 8s lid; Waikomiti, £99 Is 3d; Birkenhead, £185 18s 7d ; Wainui, £21119s 4d ; Takapuna, £189 9s 6d; Northcote, £111 6s 9d; Kaukapakapa, £272 9s 6d.
tRoAD to BtrcKLAND's.—A letter was read from Mr F. D. Fenton, offering to dedicate a road through his land to Mr Buckland's on condition thab ib was continued through Crown lands northward, and gates allowed ab each end. — The lebter was received, and thanks of the Council tendered to Mr Fenton for his offer. The letter was then referred fco the engineer to report upon. What. Portage Road. —Mr A. Morrison wrote forwarding a humorous letter praying the Council to repair tho Whau Portage Road some time before tho resurrection. The writer warned bhe Council bhat if work was nob b.gun within twenby-one days, he would pay his rabes into Court and serve fche usual summonses. A deputation of residents interested, waited upon the Council to pray that some work should be done on this road. On tbe motion of Mr Bishop ib was decided bhab bhis should be bhe firsb work done in bhe riding.
Howell'sßridgb.—Thofollowing tenders "were received for work ab Howell's bridge : —Joseph Lee, £90; R. Brunton and Co., £97.—The lowest tender was accepted. Henderson Valley Road.—Mr G. Colebrook wrote drawing attention to certain repairs required on this road and offering to do the necessary work for his year's rates. — The matter was referred to the Engineer and Cr. O'Niell to report at next meeting. Swanson.—Mr Mays said that there had been a meeting at Swanson, and all disputes settled, righteousness once moro appeared triumphant, all had fallen upon each others' breasts and promised to dedicate. Mr Sisam had forwarded a letter urging that the road to tho falls from Swanson should be proceeded with.— Mr Meckle waa in attendance and said that he saw no reason for Mr Sisam to have written to the Council at all, as the matter had been dealt wibh at a public meeting. He was willing to dedicate the land provided that Mr Sisam did the same.—lt was decided to inform Mr Sisam that until the road was dedicated i unconditionally the work would not be proceeded with. When the road through Sisains' and '■ Heckles' was so dedicated it was decided that tbe tender for removal of the slips should be proceeded with.
Kaukapakapa.—Mr James Cottlo wrote calling attention to the state of the road from Kaukapakapa to the station.— It was resolved to do the work ab a cosb nob exceeding £5. - ,_.,
