RE VALUATION OF HOLDINGS.

Invercargill, this day. The Commissioners under the Selectors' Re-valuation Act submitted the first report of the Land Board yesterday, dealing with about fifty holdings. All were reduced, some to 12s 6d per acre, the Commissioners stating that as this was the lowest price of second class deferred payment land known to the Land Act, they did not feel justified in going below it, although some of the sections are worth rather less. The majority of the sections dealt with are in Forest Hill where the land is exceptionally poor, cold, and sour, with patchfja of peat. ...
