THE KINGSHIP OF SAMOA.
The steamship Lubeck, from Tonga and Samoa, arrived in Port Jackson on bho 21sb ulb. The vessel lefc Apia on the 12th ulb. Shortly before she sailed Malieboa was again declared King of the Sumoan Islands, the following proclamation being published : —" Wo, the undersigned representatives of the Governments of Germany, Greab Bvitain, and bhe TJnitod States, hereby make known to the people of Samoa thab our Governments with a view to the prompt restoration of peace and good order fin the Samoan Islands, and in view of the difficulties which would surround an election in tho present disordered condition of their Governments, have by common accord declared that Malietoa Laupepa, who was formerly made and appointed king on July 12th, 1881, and was recognised by the three Powers, shall again be co recognised hereafter in bhe exercise of such authority. We ab the same time invite the people of Samoa to take without delay such measures as, according to Samoan custom, are necessary to reinstate tho high chief Laupepa as King of Samoa.
