LATEST FROM SAMOA.
(from our own correspondent.)
Since my last some of Tamasese's followers have been creating a disturbance in a part of Savaii. It seems that they seized and burnba boat belonging to Malietoa's people and ill-treated some of hie adherents. So Malietoa has decided to punish them unless they swear allegiance to him, and for that purpose has despatched a body of men to Savaii. Should Tamasese'a followers offer any resistance their houses will be burnt, and they will be forced to join Tamasese in his fort at Leutamuu. DISTRESS IN SAMOA.
The necessity for outside assistance is, now entirely at an end, although in some of the less favoured districts the natives are sfcill rather short of food. MEN-OF-WAR. The German warship Sophie is the only man-of-war in harbour ab present. The U.S. Adams is at Pagopago, but is daily expected to arrive here. Her commander, Captain Woodward, is seriously ill in Apia. From ad vices.received, no English man-of-war.is to be expected until after the hurricane months, which means April next.
