SAMUEL JACKSON, JUNIOR.
MEETING OF CREDITORS,
A meeting of creditors in the estate of Samuel Jackson, junior, was held at the office of the Official Assignee this afternoon. Present: Messrs J. Abbott, J. P. King-, Harper, S. Vaile, Maxfield, Stephens, Hammond, Wildman, Stead, and Dr. Girdler. The meeting was called specially for consideration of the best method of realising on the bankrupt's book debts. Mr J. Abbott moved "That the Official Assignee be authorised to dispose of the book debts of the bankrupt to any solicitor for any sum he may think fit, and if he finds it impracticable to do so, to treat them as bad and hand any deeds over to a solicitor for distribution to the persons entitled to them, and ciose the bankruptcy without any further delay." Some discussion took place as to tho legality of the first proceeding, and Mr Lawson said that he would as a matter of course consult his solicitor before acting upon it. Mr Hammond seconded the resolution, which was carried unanimously, and the meeting terminated.
