AUCKLAND COLLEGE AND GRAMMAR SCHOOL.
The ordinary meeting of the Board of Governors of the Auckland College and Grammar School was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Sir G. M. OTcorko (in the chair), Rev. C. M. Nelson, Col. Haultain, Messrs Upton, Lennox, Luke, and Professor Brown. Chairman. —On tho motion of Col. Haultain, Sir Maurice O'Rorko was re-elected Chairman for the ensuing twelve months.
Aquatic Sports.—On the application of the' Secretary of the school aquatic sports, it was agreed to contribute three guineas towards the sports. Reduction. —Several applications wero received from tho tenants of ths Board asking for a reduction in their rents, It wag agreed to inform them that the Board had not the power to reduce rents or to accept the surrender of leases. Prize Committee. — The Hon, Colonel Haultain, the Rev. C. M. JSTelson, and Professor Brown were appointed a Committee to select the annual prizes for the school. Accounts,—A number of accounts for current expenses were passed for payment.
