CARTERS' PICNIC.
The adjourned carters' picnic took place aft Potter's paddock on Saturday afternoon, when the following events" were con" tested:—
Carters, 150 Yards (Carters only).—&. O'Hare, 4 yards, 1; E. Wilson, 9 yards, 2 ? H. Hales, 9 yards, 3. All Comers, 150 Yards.—First heat: J. Baker, 9 yards, 1; W. Purdy, 6 yards, 2;. J. Ballantyne, 16 yards, 3. Second heat i Murphy, 11 yards', 1 ; W. Trubshaw, & yards, 2 : J. McDermott, 8 yards, 3. Final heat: Murphj'-, 1; Baker, 2; Ballantine.S, Baker lodged a protest in respect of a foul,, and the Committee held the matter over for decision. ' .'.. ';-■'; ■■■•>
One-mile Walk.—W. Turner, 90 yards,, 1; W. Collett, 80 yards, 2; A. Hendry, scratch, 3.
All Comers, Half-mile.—W. Howie,, scratch, 1 ; J. Baker,' scratch, 2; H. McLaughlin, 12 yards, 3. : Three-legged Race.—Pickering and Purdy, 1; O'Hare and McDermott, 2. ' Handicap Hurdle Race.—O!Hare, 1? Noonan,;,2. Yoking-up Match.— W. Turner, I;.JTurner, 2; O'Hare, 3, Mile Match A mile match for £2a-sHI9 was then got up between T. Mclntyreand W. McDonald, and it was wpu easily by the former, by nearly 20 yards.
