Mr S. Hesketh objected to Mr Quoi, as he had been assisting the prosecution and was, he had reason to believe, prejudiced against them, in fact ho had been instrumental in getting some of them arrested. He had himself telegraphed to Palmerston for a Chinese interpreter, Mr W. P. Sing, but he could arrive not until to-morrow He would therefore ask that the case should be further adjourned.
