AEEIVAL OE THE BARQUE
LOCH URP*
A barque inward bound was signalled early this morning, and the vessel, after taking the pilot on board, was indicated from the signal-station as having anchored in the Channel. Speculations as to her identity were set at rest this afternoon by the news that she was the barque Loch Urr, bound from Newcastle to Valparaiso with a cargo of coals, and that-she had called inherefor the purpose of landing for medical treatment Mr Sproat, a passenger, son of the senior partner, Mr J. Sproat, in the firm of her owners, J. Sproat and Co. of London. The Loch Urr is an iron barque of 716 tons register, and made a voyage to Auckland about six years ago. Her commander, Captain Murdoch, is well-known ia this "port. The Loch Urr left Newcastle some days ago for Valparaiso, but when off the northern point of the Now Zealand coast, the health of Mr Sproat, who had been making a trip in the vessel to Australian and other ports, became so precarious that Captain Murdoch decided to put into Auckland and land his passenger. The Loch Urr anchored oil Rangitoto Reef about 10 a.m. to-day, and Mr Sproat was brought, up in one of the ship's beats to the Queen-street wharf, whence he was conveyed to the District Hospital. The barque continues her v.oyage to Valparaiso in all probability to-morrow;
The captain of the. Swedish barque Orskar has succeeded in shipping a full crew, and continues hia voyage to Falmouth with the first fair wind.
Yesterday afternoon, the ship Ugglan cleared outwards ab the Customs for New York. She takes a cargo of 7.511 cases kauri gum, valued at about £30,000. Tho Ugglan sails with .the first fair wind, most probably to-morrow.
