The Legislative Council opened yesterday. The Governor's speech indicated that there would probably be a deficit of ;£30,000 afc the end of this year, but this would be met by the issue of 'Treasury Bills to the extent of The speech further stated that the resources of the colony were expanding, and business was on a sound basis.
