Manapouri, for ,th,e : Soutli and Melbourne :—SO sacks superphosphate, 200 boxes candles, 72 bags lime, 19 sacks oysters, 8 bales leather, 65 boxes fruit, 37 sacks hides, 57 cateri syrup, 600 bag 3 sugar, 60- cases syrup, 14 cases syrup, 12 sacks hides, 20 cases bananas, 50 bunches bananas, 180 cases, oranges, 30 sacks coco .nuts, 12 cases mullet, 46 sacks oysters, 16 do., 4 crates iron, 18 sheets do., 3 kegs tongues, 20 cases oranges, 20 bags potatoes, 2 cases plants, 8 empty casks, and a large quantity of sundries.
Outwakds Coastwise,—Mana, cutter, for Tairua, with 2 tons flour, 1 ton potatoes, and -?t ton sugar; Progress, scow, for WJhananaki, in ballast.
At the Queen-street Wharf the ship Wairoa is busy putting out her London cargo.
At Quay-street Jetty, No. 2, the barque Rebecca, after completing her discharging, is to load timber for Melbourne.
This afternoon the schooner Waipu sails for Mercury Bay and Gisborne, with a quantity of general cargo
The schoonor Magellan Cloud has entered outwards at the Customs for Brisbane via Thames.
The direct mail, per Tongariro, is expected to arrive per Wanaka this afterneon. .
This afternoon . the schooner Christine sailed for Norfolk Island and Noumea, with a general cargo.
By the s.s. Manapouri, to-day, Dr, E. Leger Erson left for Australia. Captains Jones, R.N., and Leidman were also among the passengers.
Early this morning the s.s. lona arrived from Tauran<ra and Mercury Bay, with several passengers and a quantity of cargo, and left again at 8 o clock for the Barrier.
The s.s. Wellington, after receiving a coat of paint, etc., is to take up her running to Whangarei again to-morrow evening"
Yesterday afternoon the s.s.. Staffa arrived from Opotiki and Whakatane with a number of passengers, and a quantity of anaize, etc.
To-day afe the Sugar Company's Wharf, Chelsea, the s.s. Fiona is discharging her cargo of raw sugar, which is turning out in excellent condition.
Two large barques are expected shortly from Java with sugar for the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., but up to the present no advice of their names or date of sailing has come to hand.
The local agent of the China Steam Navigation Company, Mr H. B. Morton, received- cable advice yesterday that the g.s. Taiynan had left Hongkong for Auckland direct on October 9th,and may therefore fee'Oxpected to reach this port about tne end iif the current month. She has on board a full cargo of tea. sugar, rice, etc., of which 300 tons are for Auck'and.
The schooner signalled yesterday proved tobe the Maud Graham, from Lytteiton, and she arrived in harbour last) evening. She left Lytteiton on September 27, and experienced a strong head wind and bad weather up to arrival. The cargo consists of 1,000 sacks wheat, consigned to the Auckland Roller Mills, and 350 bundles fishplates, consigned to the Public Works Department.
At ah early hour this morning the s.s. Manapouri returned from Russell, whither she.had gone to coal, and at noon to-day sailed for the South and Melbourne, with cargo and ' the following passengers :— Messrs Cohn, J. H. M; Purdie, Young, F. A. C. Hurle, E. Butterwo.rtb, "Webster, Dr. Leger Erson, E. B. Gray, j.. W. Deacon, Captain .Tones, R.N., Capt. Laidman, W. F. Thompson, T. Baxter, T. Welsh, Turnbull, Howard, Mesdames Tyler, Brabazou and 5 children, Alston and 2 children, Fenwick, Welsh, Turnbull and child, Howard and family, Misses ~ Preston, Fenwick, Maunsell, F. James, Mitchell, and 11 steerage.
