ORDINATION SERVICE.

The very impressive service of ordination ov laying on of hands was celebrated in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre this niorn^ ing, when the Revs. N. Boyes (of Waiuku) and- A. English (of Coromandel), deacons of the Church of England, were admitted to the' order of priesthood by the Most Rev. the Primate. The Yen. Archdeacon Dudley and the Rev. C, M. Nelson assisted in the service, and some sixteen other members of the clergy of the diocese ot Auckland were present, while the congregation was a large one for a week day. The service was opened with a processional hymn, "At the Name of. Jesus," there being a full choir, Mr Vincent Rice presiding at the organ. After the bidding and the Lord's Prayer, a sermon waß preached by the Rev. C. M, Nelson in harmony with the service, in which he gave some sound advice and instruction to the two candidates, for the priesthood, who were afterwards presented to the Primate by the Yen. Archdeacon Dudley. The Litany, was intoned by the Rev. C. M. Nelson, and was followed by the hymn " Praise to the Holiest in the Height." Thefirstportionof the communion service was conducted by Bishop Harper, the epistle being taken from Ephesians iv. chap.,verse 7, and the gospel from St. Matthew, ix. chap., verge 7. The Bishop's charge and examination of the candidates .followed, and then the congregation joined in singing the ordination hymn, " Come, Holy Ghost, bur Souls Inspire.".; The solemn rite of laying on 61 hands was'most .impressive, the. Bishop, .invoking the blessing. The' Sacrament ;of, Holy Communion; was then administered, a large number of the congregation remaining to it, and the service closed with the hymn "We Love the Place of God, >% eung as a recessional. During the service a cplleetion in aid of the Home Mission Fund was made. ,
