The middle weighb boxing competition was to have been decided at Professor Carrollo's last evening, but Mr J. R. Pickson declined to competej and so the medal carrying tlie championship was ;adjudged to G. Poltridge. There; was a very good contest for gymnastic proficiency between W. Russell and I>, Hooper.,., The scoring in the exercises; was very and when totted up at the finish ifc "was 'found ,fchat,;Mr Russell had only beaten Mr .Hooper by ;3 points, the scoring: being—Russell;tsoii Hooper 47£.
