ATHLETIC NOTES.
A report was current in town to-day that Barlow Madigan was so far recovered from his accident that he was to play fullback for Auckland on Saturday. This is not the case, for, although nearly better, Madigan does not feci quite well enough to play a hard game of football. A match has been arranged between E. Donovan, champion light weight of New Zealand, and George Coyle, heavy weight champion of W'aikato, to fight to a finish, Marquis of Queensberry rules, for £10 a-side; to take place in the Huntly Hall on Monday night, July 9bh.
