HARBOUR BOARD.
The ordinary meeting was held this after" noon, Mr M. Niccol (Chairman) presiding. A. Kidd, T. Morrin, P. Dignan, T. Hender son, A. H. Nathan, A. E. Devore. | Works and Tariff Committee. — This Committee recommended : (1) That permission be granted to Mr Oldham to erect retaining wall on boundary of his property, provided that the wall be erected at high water mark; (2) that the Board re-enter upon allotments leased to Mr William Gaickshank and determine the leases, and that a claim be made upon the estate fon the arrears of rent; (3) that although the Committee recognises the hardships of the case as represented by Messrs Brown and Henderson on behalf of the lessees in Customs-street West, the law will not admit of any alteration in rentals being made at present; (4) that a shed be erected for Thames steamers of the size indicated in Mr Fraser's letter, the Foreman of Works to submit plan and specification, rental for office and shed to be £40 per annum, quarterly occupation; (4) that the Foreman of Works submit plans and specificafor shed Quay-street jetty No 2, shed to be 100 ft. x 40ft. leaving 25ft. passage around the shed; (5) also for provision for a temporary water supply at Calliope Dock, at a cost not exceeding _£80; (6) that the City Council be requested to grant a site near Queen-3treet Wharf for weighbridge ; (7) that consideration of Engineer's report re wharf and shed accommodation be deferred.
