DEATH OF MR PEARSON. M.H.R.

Christchurch, this day, Mr Pearson, M.H.R. for Ashley, died this
morning.

Wellington, this day. Mr Pearson, M.H.R. for Ashley, senior Government whip, who has been ailing for some weeks, died at his residence in Canterbury provincial district early bhis mornmg. Ministers are now in Cabinet, but it is understood that the Premier will move the adjournment of the House in consequence of the death of the member for Ashley.
Christchurch, this day, THE CLOSING SCENE.
The late member for Ashley died at 3.30 this morning. He had been propped up in an arm-chair, and his father, believing him better, had retired to rest. Mr Pearson was.bhen nobiced to have grown worse. He said he felb no pain, and would not allow his wife to be called, saying bhab she was bired and needed rest. Shortly alter he gave a few sobs and died. He was aged 33. The deceased was Chairman of bhe Oxford Road Board.
