The new shares of the Auckland Gas Company were purchased at £5 12s. The Rev. G. B. Munro, minister of St: Luke's Presbyterian Church, Remuera, returned to Auckland this morning. Mr Munro has recently been on a visit to Gisborne. The list of old New Zealand colonists has been still further curtailed by the death of Mrs Gould, wife of the Rev. Mr Gould, of Otahuhu, who succumbed to an affection of the throat about midnight of yesterday. The deceased lady came to Russell when only six months of age, and married there. For the pasfa 27 years she resided at Otahuhu, and brought up to manhood a family of sixteen children. She had been ailing for the past nine months, and was attended by Dr. Purchas. Another old identity has also passed away from our midst in the person of Mr Henry Ridings, senr., who died at Newton Road this morning at tho I ripo ago of 74 years.
