WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING.
YESTERDAY AFTERNOON SESSION.
The district meeting resumed its fittings yesterday at quarter past two with devotional exercises, led by the Rev. J. Dukes.
The case of tliQ "jß. e v. Rameka Waikerepuru occupied the attention of the meeting* and thq. rinding of the committee appointed to consider his case was unanimously endorsed, namely, "That Rev. Rameka Waikerepuru is guilty of insubordination in refusing to supply the dotailed accounts of moneys supplied to him for travelling expenses, as requested by the Home Mission Committee ; also in refusing to return to his circuit, and in disobeying the summons of the ohairman to attend the district meeting." The meeting recommended to Conference that he cease to be recognised as a minister ot the" Wesleyan Church. ' Under the question, " What preachers on trial do we recommend to be admitted into full connection at the ensuing Conference ?" the meeting unanimously recommended that the Rev. Samuel Griffith, of Tauranga, be ordained and admitted into full connection ; also that the Rev. Hauraki Paul pass in his year. It was resolved, " That as Rev. Wi Warena Pewa was unable to attend the last Conference for ordination, tho Conference of 1888 be requested to arrange for hie ordiuation at some convenient time."
A report of the trial sermon preached by tha "Rev. T. A. Joughin was read by Rev. H. H. Lawry, and his book list read by the secretary. After suitable counsel had been tendered Mr Joughin respecting his course of reading, ho was unanimonsly recommended to the Conference to, pass in his year, subject to his written examination proving satisfactory. After hynm commencing, " Where shall true believers go ?" the obituaries of the late Rev. Hamiora Ngatopi and Martin L. Waiti, native ministers, were read. The Revs. Wallis, H. H. Lawry, Bavin, Gittos,Dellow, Salter, andHaurakiPaultestified to the excellent Christian spirit found in the doparted, to their fidelity to truth and to the church of their choice, and to their extensive usefulness. It was unanimously decided that the obituaries as read be forwarded to Conference for insertion in the minutes.
The motion re the " In Memoriam " sheet to be printed in the annual minutes was carried unanimously. The meeting rose at half-past four p.m.
