Wellington, this day. Mr niitc-iclsoii's 111-luck-Mr Mitchelson's ill-luck at horseracing seems to follow him. In the Cauliied Cup run a fortnight ago, Escutcheon was jammed against tho rails, and in the Derby on Saturday Tranter fell when holding a good position. On Saturday night Mr Mitchelson received the following from his trainer:—"Ought certainly to have won. Last away Tranter fell on his head at tho turn into the straight, thereby losing lengths. Just beaten for a place.— Dakin, Melbourne."
