-'. • Wellington, Monday. The Friendly Societies raised £230 18s by their series of Jubilee fetes, which they propose to devote to building an orphanageIt was expected that the sum would have been much larger. They have proposed to add the money to that sum of £1,300, which the Benevolent Society have in hand, but there seems to be a hitch in the matter which has not been quite overcome yet.
