Dunedin, Monday. John Mathieson, insurance agent, yf& e committed for trial to-day for robbing and assaulting a Chinaman. He met the Chinaman, who is a hawker, on the road, and asked, to see his license, demanding £1 at the same time. The Chinaman was rather slow in complying, when Mathieson struck him and knocked his goods about, John eventually handing over 10s to get rid of him, but taking a good look so as to identify him, and then informing the police.
