Drunkenness. persons were punished for this offence.
No Means.— Henry Lange was charged with having no visible means of support. The accused was recently , found in the bush at Helensville, and handed over to the police in a destitute condition He was remanded to the gaol, and ulti mately recovered. The charge was with drawn
Alleged Embezzlement.—Walter Cross was charged with embezzling the' moneys of the Poverty Bay Highway Board.- Mr O'Meagher appeared for the ' ■ accused.— Sergeant Pratt produced the warrant which arrived by the Te Anau yesterday, and asked^f or a remand to Gisborne, where the prisoner could appear on Monday next.. Mr O'Meagher said he would not offer ,any objection, but he was aware that there were any Highway Boards in the colony now.—Remanded to Gisborne.
