CRIMINAL SESSIONS.

Christchurch, this day. The criminal sittings opened yesterday. Mr Justice Johnston congratulated the Grand Jury on the lightness of the calendar, which contains only ten cases, none presenting remarkable features. George Walter Foster, for forgery was sentenced to two years hard labour.
Dunedin, this day.
At the Supreme Court, James H. Wilson, alias Thornton, pleaded guilty to forgsry, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. John Edward Taylor, alias Thomson, an old offender, pleaded guilty to larceny, and was sentenced to four years' imprisonment.
