North Shore v. Thames.

Thi3 match was played at Parawaion Saturday ■ afternoon, the weather being beautiful and the ground in fair condition. About ten minutes after the commencement of the game a try was obtained by Wynyard for the visitors, but the kick for goal was unsuccessful. Towards the conclusion of the first spell a try was secured for Thames by Paterson, who also scored another touch-down duringthesecondspell, although no jjoal resulted from either. The Thames Club thus won the match, which was one of the best witnessed here this season, by.four points to two. Each side was forced down twice. The visitors played an excellent game, their passing being much admired, while the Thames men never showed to better advantage. In the evenin" - the visitors were entertained at dinner at°the Governor Bowen Hotel, and left for Auckland on Sunday morning. Next Saturday a nittteh is to take place at the Thames betwoon the Wanderers .Club and Ponsonby. * .
A meeting of the Grafton 11. Football Club is to be held in Tomlinson's Hotel, Parnell, at 7.30 o'clqck to-morrow (Tuesday evening, for the purpose of electing a new captain and committee.'
