Probate, etc.—Probate was granted in re Barnard Longbottom and Thomas Welsman (deceased), and letters of administration wero ordered to be issued in re Arama Karaka Hoututu (deceased). An order was made for the payment of interim dividend- in re the Caledonian Low Level G. TNI? Company. An application in re Colonial Rank v. Me--Iridoe for leave to defend was deferred till next Chamber sitting. In re George v. tho New Zealand Stud and Pedigree Stock Company and others, Mr Button applied for leave to plead, and also that the question of laWshould* be argued before trial." It was decided that the case should stand over pending determination of point of law, and that the New Zealand Land' Mortgage Company should be joined as defendants. An order was made.for- tho taxation of a bill of costs by Mr Mackechnie. In Bankruptcy. Re Alex. Brown.—A motion by Mr Campbell that this bankrupt should be allowed to give evidence orally was allowed to stand over. , ~ ... Re Arthur Robt. Den by.— Mr Cave moved for directions as to amount of rates to be paid by Official-Assignee .'preferentially out of estate to tile Corporation of Auckland.—His Honor ordered that LIS 15a should be allowed as due and payable within six months before order of adjudication.—The second instalment (L(5 ss) and Library rate (lOs.od) were disallowed. Mr Button said he proposed this morning to raise merely the question of the jurisdiction of the Court, leaving the other questions to stand over for tho present;.— His Honor held that the District Court had, jurisdiction iii the matter.
