Seduction in Gas.

Sir,!—l hear that the Gas Company con template making a substantial reduction in the'price of gas by way of a little Jubilee surprise to consumers. They might have -lone so some time since without materially effecting their hitherto substantial dividends. The increased consumption, especially by those using gas stoves and engines, to say nothing of those who would be consumer"* w ere gas cheaper, would more than recoup for lowering ' the price, besides having a tendency towards making tho monthly bill less of a bugbear to a great H-any during these Jubilee times than it is at ; .-*WMit. The Company will lose nothing by the contemplated reduction.—l am, &c., Consumer.
