Winter's here, and. thousands hunger, What's your work, and what's the pay ? ': Two'hundred each, ye gods of plenty"! Have ye earned it, tell me, pray ?,
Have ye blessed the-settler's village, Built on hope, in faith and tears ? Are ye waiting for a deluge . . , But to "drown the dream of years ?
Land.and roads that lead tpmeadows^ Bridges fording: silver streams, { Thus the people ask for-weeping, But yethink it idle dreams,!;,^' •■
But to-day the cry increaseth, ; • ',' Land to live on, bread to win," And the. stprm-cloud rises higher, Nearer roars the battle's din! ;,
Will ye follow where our leader ; ' . Plants his flag? Or will ye stay, Half-saved sinners, outside heaven, iio Waiting, trembling by the way ?
Will you follow flag or banner,' ■• Bearing mottoes bright and fair ?• "Land and homes for honest labour," " Work and plenty,, every where."
Yes ! or No ! the people:will it, t : i Quickly comes the Judgment Day,; Are you prisoners, or soldiers, '' Near the1 chariot wheels of Grey ? - W. R. Wills.
