At the Police Court yesterday, a lad 13 years of age, named James Guy, was committed for trial on the charge of receiving a watch and chain from Hugh Farrelly, knowing the same to have beon stolen. | ,"■ j *"''.* |WEr.LiS(rTOTi, this day.,, A man named Thomas Thompson appeared in Court this morning on five cbai-ges of burglary and house-breaking at the Hutt. Considerable sums of money and jewellery have been lost by residents there. Thompson was remanded for a.week. ~ -Cfiuipensatipn Case. A compensation case began to-day in which the trustees in ,!fche Rhodes estate claim' L'l,ooo from the Gbveniment for"land taken for battery site and damage to the estate. . Chuistchuroh, this day.
