A CHILDREN'S JUBILEE FETE.

Invekcargili-, this day. The Jubilee celebration, for which splendid weather has been experiencedi closed yesterday, when the Mayor (Mr Alfred Tapper) entertained the school children; between six and nine years of age, at the Garrison -Hall. It. proved' an immense success, fully eight hundred little ones sitting down at seven long tables, which were well stockedwith good'thing?. A large number of ladies and gentlemon waited on the children, whose delight, was unbounded. At .intervals the .band played^rind-songs were' sung. An entertainment was subsequently' given to which children up to 14 years were admitted. Tins was attended by 1.50. On leaving, the youngsters were presented with Jubilee medals. , Tho affair is unanimously declared .to have been the best and* * most - happily conceived' and executed of all local celebrations.
