FINANCIAL REFORM LEAGUE.

A meeting of the committee of the above Association was held afc 8 o'clock on Saturday evening, in Fob?on'e Rooms. There was ft large attendance, considering the stato of the weather. After an exhaustive diseuß?ion, the following programme was formulated as tho platform of the Association for the coining election :— That the Governor"? salary bo reduced to L 5.000 per annum : that tho numbers be re duced to 50: that the honorarium be fixed at LISO per annum, members within a radius of 10 miles of Wellington to have LIOO per annum; no expenses to be .allowed. That the salary of the Speaker of tho House be reduced •to LSOO per annum. That tho Chairman of Committees' salary bo fixed at L3OO per annum, chief clerk? LSOO, and assistant clerk MOO. That no fresh appointments bo made to the Legislative Council until the numbers have been reduced to 30, and that tho number of members be Dot increased beyond that number in tho 'future. That tho salary of members of tho-Legislative Council bo fixed ab LIOO per annum, and no expenses. Members residing within a radius of 10 miles of Wellington to receive LSO. This programme has yet to be ratified by tho full meeting of tho Association. That tho Ministers be reduced to five. The Premier to be allowed £1,000 per annum and tho other Ministers LSOO each and one guinea per day travelling allowance. Ministers still to retain their residences. ■
