THE LATE HIGH TIDES.

Wellington, this day. 8m James Hector is of opinion that the recent high tides are the result of the .volcanic distnrbances in New Mexico On the 4th instant. On May 7th a very high tide was observed at Wellington. When it should have been half-ebb the water rushed up the Hufct River flooding the floor of the refreshment stands on the racecourse, to the depth of several inches.
