HEALING BY FAITH.

Last night the Rev. J. A. Dowie, with Mrs Dowie, conducted the fourth servicein connection with his faith-healing mission. A large audience, who appeared most attentive and appreciative, almost filled the Choral Hall. After the usual hymns and devotions, during which Mrs Dowie led those present in pi-iiyor, the Rev. Mr Dowie took his tuxi From Thessalonians, v. 23. Tho rcvei-encl lecturer then called attention to a diagram hang upon Lhe stage, containing four discs. The centre one of gold typified the Holy Spirit; tho second, man's spirit; the third, hi* soul; tho fourth, his body. The Holy Spirit, Mr Dowie said, should rest calmly in the centre of a true Christian's body, and ponnoafce the .spirit, soul, and body of tho man, sanctifying all to the service of the Creator. Turning now to tho 20 or inoro petitions he had received from nick and suffering ones for prayer, he asked his audience to assitsfc him with their .supplication*. An earnest address then followed on

" Sanctilieation of Spirit, Soul, and Body." This evening Mr Dowie will give an address upon " Loaves of Healing from tho Tree of Life," and Mrs Dowie upon " Blessed are they that Wash their Robes." A lecture on a temperance subject, "Wasted Lives and Rescued Lives," will bo delivered on Saturday night. Mr Dowie took occasion to acknowledge the kindly courtesy of the Auckland Press, which he observed was in great contrast to the reception ho had received from the papers of other places where he had lectured.
