A committee meeting of the Auckland Cricket Association was held last night in the Club-room, Albert Hotel, when the following delegates were present:—Messrs Barton, C, F. Reid, W. Byburn, J. Sykes, McKinney, Mumford, Thompson, Beard, and Brookes. Mr C. F. Bourne (VicePresident) occupied the chair. In the absence of the Secretary (Mr A. M. Beale) Mr C. F. Reid road the minates of theglast meeting, which were confirmed, and then several letters that had been received from playera who had been picked to represent Auckland in the match against the Australian Eleven next week. Messrs Beard, Mills, Testro, Thomas, and Harvie asked that they should bo paid for their services, as otherwise they would bo out of pocket. Mr Thompson than moved, "Thatthe Association pay the expeaee>" of those gentlemen whosa requests are before the meeting, provided that tho Association's share of the not proceeds of the match should hi Bufficknb for that purpose." Mr McKinney proposed, and Mr Reid soconded, as an amendment, " That no expenses bo allowed to any player in the forthcoming match with the Australian Eleven." A loog discussion onsued, during; which it was pointed out that a3 funds now stood it was impossible for the Association to guarantee tho required sums, and if they were voted tho players must take the chance of there being' funds sufficient after the match. A division being taken, the amendment waa lost and the motion carried by 5 to i. A general opinion was expressed that as tho Association bad only been in existonce such a short time, and had never had any question like this to decide before, it would be better if a general moating was called as soon as possible, and a standing rule was passed eottling the matter. This is all the more ntcoesary from tho fact that Auckland will have to put two or threa more representative teams in tho field this season. A telegram was read from Mr Ollivier, the New Zsaland manager for tho Australian Eleven, accepting tho last terms offered by the Committee for the three days' match next week,.viz , two-thirds of the net proceeds, and if Auckland's share amounts to £80, Auckland to pay for the ground. Mr Lillywhite's letter, declining to visit New Zealand, which we have published before, was road, and passed in as received. A letter was received from Mr Ewing, the Hon. Secretary of the Manukau County C.A., arranging the dates on which to play matches between the two Associations. A letter was received from the Secretary of the Alma Cricket Club, stating that his Club hod elected to drop out of the contest for the second Junior Cup. It was decided to leave to the Match Committee to settle what should be done on the Saturdays thus left vacant. It was decided, on the motion of Mr McKinney, that the sympathy of the Association with Mr Lankham on the death of his son be recorded on the books. Mr Barton proposed, and Mr Ryburn seconded, " That,, owing to the death of Mr W. Lankham, a pieco of crape be worn on the right arm by the Auckland players in the match with the Australian Eleven next week, and also in the practice match on Saturday, December 4th."- Carried. Messrs Barton, Yates, and Dewes were appointed as a Management Committee to assist in making arrangements with the Secretary, if required, for the forthcoming match, Australian Eleven v.
