HOSPITAL BOARD.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the above Board was held on Monday [afternoon Present: Messrs E. A. Mackeohnie (in the chair), R. Hudson, A. Kldd. B. Mitchelson, and O. Mays.

,v X Hospital.—A reply was received from the City Council regarding tho application for •*i? .B._°_ th, e Look Hospital building, to tho elftct that the letter had been referred to the Finance Committee —A letter was read from Dr. Bond to the offeot that the building known as the Lock Hospit»l was unsuitable for tho purpose of dealing with cases ot venereal disease, as it h- d neither gas nor water laid on. ai'fi no firo-.lacea.
House bURQKON.-The Chairman stated that ho had telegraphed to the Mayor th_t th 80-u-d required Ihe services of a physician and house surgeon »• » __)__.y or £15. per annum. He stated that lie had received a ' oply to Ihe effect ■hat the Major would attend to the m« ter ,_ but he feared that it would bo a difficult task at such a remuneration. Alter si-ine discussion, it was resolved to advertise in tl ,i Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, aad Uuuedin pap.rs, and to insiruct the Mayor to attend to ihe malter in Sydney and Mel-, bourne. It was decided t. arrange with Br. Bond to Btny on to the tmi of tho < ear. Ho pital Extension.-Mr I.idd moved "Th t v bo a recomiu.'ngat.o-. to tho Heard that in conn-e1,..:, with the new Hospital exteu_iov^ a separate spconimodation be erected for iho treatment of venereal disease not exceeding ten beds for each sex" He thought that there was no need to discuss the matter, as all would aau.it that it was decidealy wrong to mix Buch ratients with others. It was well known that vonoreal diseases spread more r.pidly than all o-hers and therefore required more care.—The .notion wascairied UDanimou-ly. Bay of Islands Contribution. A telegram was received from tho Premier, adviaing the Board to sue bodies 'hat did not pay conti-bu-ttons. Resignation.- The resignation ef John Brown, of tho Hosriit J, waa accepted. SUBSIDY— A . leurr was received from the pnehunga Lidies' Benevolent Society, forwarding £i old 3 collected by them, and requesting the Board to obialn the subsidy, and return same to them for distribution: Ho3olved to refer it to the Government.
