Thero was a large attendance at the soiree last evening in connection with the Newmarket Wesleyan Church anniversary. Tho traye were presided over by Mieses I-aybourne (2), Frost, and Mesdames Clayton, Kent, Burton, and Lowe. Mr J. L. Wilson presided at the subsequent meeting, at which addresses were delivered by Revs A. J. Smith, T. Spureeon, R. Bavin, T. G. Carr, and Captain Steohens, of the Salvation Army, and musical selections were rendered by the Grafton Boad ohoir. It appeared from the report and balance-sheet presented that the Sunday-school was increasing, that there was need of a larger staff of teachers, and that the congregation wore aleo growing in numbers. The sum of £23 18s 6d bad been paid off tho debt during tbo year, leaving tho amount at £509 4s lOd.
