Robbery from a Jeweller's.
Patkicd Anderson was charged at the Police Cour} today with stealing a silver cup, value £2 10fl, from the jewellery establishment of Mr H. E. Kohn, Queenstreet. Tho evidence went to show that at 7 30 am. on tho day of the robbery, accused was observed with bie arm through the iron gatoway at tho entranco to the shop. Sevoral people called to him that the police were coming, and he ran away. While endeavouring to make his escape he threw a silver cup which he had under his coat in a doorway. Constable Cotter pursued and overtook tho prisoner, and it was afterwards discovered that the plate-glass window had been broken. Evidence was given by Messrs Hughes, Whiting, Kohn, and Constable Cotter, and the accused was committed for trial.
