THE RECLAMATION WALL.

Another serious mishap has occurred in connection with the efforts to bolster up tho reclamation wall. Tho central buttress had almoet been completed in the required position on Saturday last, and yesterday a man was engaged pumping out some water when the concern collapsed with a great crash, tho woodwork giving way and allowing the cement formation to spread. The man who was on the buttress escaped without injury, although placed in a very dangerous position. The butreases wero built by Messrs Haywood and Glaegow. They will loose considerably by tho as the whole affair will probably have to be cleared away and constructed. It is supposed that the woodwork was not sufficiently strong to bear the concrete, and that this was tho cause of the collapse.
