ACCIDENT AT THE N.Z. TIMBER COMPANY'S WORKS.
A most distressing accident occurred today at the above works to a carpenter pamed Henry Middleton. He was working a rabbiting machine, when tho timber flew back and dragged his left hand under the machine. The thumb was severely lacerated, and the forefinger and first joint of tho eecond finger were amputated. The machine was at once stopped, and the man was sent to the Hospital, where his wounds were dressed by Dr. Bond. Middleton has been retained in the accident ward.
