ACCIDENT IN WELLINGTON STREET.

A street accident of a rather serious nature happened yesterday to a child of six years, named Florence Mcintosh, daughter of Jas. Mcintosh, of Upper Union-streot. She was sent on a inessago to Wellington-street, and was accompanied by her jounger brother. Whon thoy wero passing tho entrance to Wellington Lano, a boy on horseback rode rapidly down the lane. Tho horso struck tho girl and throw her violently to tho ground. It was boliovcd that she had sustained serious injuries, and Dr. Dawson was sont for. Ho found that her face had boen seriously bruised, that several of hor tooth had beon loossned, and that sho had been soverely shaken gonorally. Mrs Mcintosh wont in search of the boy, and found him getting his horso shod in Wellington Lano. He was asked why ho had ridden over the children, and replied that ho called to tho.n to got out of the way. Mrs Mcintosh then asked him why ho did not pull up his horso, and it is said that ho replied that ho had not bimo. He gavo his name as George Thomas Crowthor, and said that ho livod in Ponsonby and was employed-by Mr W. Parker, groeor, Hobson-street. Tho matter was subsequently reported to Constable Born&rd.
