TE AROHA.
Colonist.—The main branch of the reef in the low level was struck in the earlier part of this week, and being now well opened up, has undoubtedly gieatly improved tho prospects of this mine. The reef is five feet in thickness, and shows gold as freely as in the level above, and in fact gives promise of a long spell p.f payable work in the claim.
Inverness.—A good-looking reef was struck yesterday in the low level, the vein previously followed having been only an offshoot of the main lode.
Diamond Gully.—Thp crushing is looking well for a payable return. Messrs Fraser, jun., and McKay) hive arrived to superintend the erection Of a new battery.
A prospecting association is being formed to thoroughly test the western slopes of the Aroha mountain, where payables lodes are believed to exist. Much satisfaction is expressed respecting the resolution adopted at the late Piako County Council meeting, viz., to expend over £1,000 in forming new and improving existing prospecting tracks throughout this goldfleld.
