• A very lively meeting of shareholders in the Northern Omnibus Company hold last night in the Public Hall, Mount Albert, though occupied for tho greater part with accusations and counter-accusations, embittered by acrimonious porsonal feeling, closod in tho most amicable manner. Tho Company, which is by many believed to bo thoroughly sound, is not to bo wound up, but the old directors have sold out their shares, and have been superseded by "newblood." Tho following wero chosen ns tho new directors :—Mossrs F, Quick, R. C. Greenwood, C. Heskoth, J. Bollard, R. Garrett, J. Waters, and Peek. " All's well that ends well," and it is to bo hoped the exiicctations of tho sanguine shareholders will bo realised. Our report is crowded out of this issue. A child named LouisClotwortliy has been scalded to doath at Whareora through falling into a pot of boiling water. Wo call attention to an advertisement concerning a lecturo to bo given in tho Primitive Mothodist school-room, Pittstreet, to-morrow evening. The "lecture is ono of special interest, and will bo illustrated by a largo number of valuablo diagrams. Tho Agont-Gcnoral lias forwarded a cablogram from London informing tho Government that a further conversion of New Zealand stock has been negotiated on satisfactory terms.
