SCARE ON THE PENGUIN.
Great excitement was caused on tho wharf this afternoon by a sensational occurrence on tho Penguin. A message was sent to tho Police Station to tho ollect that tho crewwere all armed with knives, and in a stato of mutiny. Sergeant Gamble and Constables Berne and Carroll were despatched to quell the rebellion. Thoy found that a quarrel had taken placo betweon somo of the men and an engineer, and tho lawful orders of tho officers had boon set ntdofiance, Onooftho belligernntsnamed George Dan-ell was taken into custody, whilo another offender managed to make his escape when tho bluo-couted custodians of tho poace hovo in sight. Poaco was restored by tho sergeant, and Darroll will be brought up at the Police Court to-morrow charged with disobedience of lawful commands, and being absent from tho vossol without leave.
