Wahanci has a largo mooting at tho taouth of tho Mokmi, and is engaged in getting .signatures to an extensive petition on tho lines of that scut to tho House last session. Over 3,000,000 acres aro included in tho boundaries over which ho seeks jurisdiction. Out of jealousy to Tawliiao and objoctions to his rule, most natives aro signing. A copy of Jones's lease has boon obtained, and comes on for discussion after the general policy of tho tribo has been settled. The natives allege that they were ignorant of tho conditions when signing tho lease. AYahanui's policy is one of lease and not sale, and titles aro to bo obtained through the Native Land Court.
