A man named F. Martin, who resides at tho corner of Wellesley and Nelson-streets, met with a serious accident to-day. Ho was working at Mr Lamb's quarry, Mount Roskill, and was engaged in assisting to load a dray with stones, when one of tho pieces of metal crushod the indox finger of his right hand. He was brought into town, and the injured memker was dressed at Dr. Tennant's surgery. It is probable that the finger will bo saved, and amputation avoided.
