Brown by the Head-master, formed the subject, of a private investigation by the City Schools Committee on Wednesday evening. Mr Worthing—n made a statement in support of the allegations, which included charges of being under the influence of liquor, threatening to shoot the Heael - master, and using undue violence towards the children. Mr Brown admitted that ho had boon suffering from over-indulgence in liquor on the previous evening. Tho other charges against the accused were subsequently withdrawn, anel it was agreed that the Board of Education should do requested to remove Mr Brown from the Wellesleystreet school.
