Tho Hon, Evolyn Ashley, Under-Secre-tary for the Colonies, in the course of a speech which ho made last evening at >orthampton, stated that he expected that the annexation of New Guinea would have to be undertaken by England in self defence, to prevent its acquisition by another power.
