RIFLE COMPETITION.

The firing for Captain Clark's district champion belt took place at the Mount Eden Kifle Range on S.tnrday afternoon, Captain Mahon of the Victoria C mpany being in charge. The ranges wele 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards, five shots at each. Only twenty-two men completed thrir shooting, tbe others being unable to see the t..get when their turn arrivea to fire the la*t shots. Volunteer E. Stretton won the belt with a score of 79 points ont of a possible 100. Appended are the scores as far as completed :—
