Another joint note by the Government of England and France has been issued, further explaining their policy in regard to Egypt, Tho contents of the documents havo not, however, yet transpired. Intelligence is to hand from Ireland that an attempt has been mado to murder Mr Lloyd, Magistrate, at Bodyke, and that during the attack tho policeman who waa guarding his honse was shot. No tiace of tlie perpetrator of the outrage has yet been obtained.

Messrs Goldsborough and Co.'s Review of the last Australian wool season, shews that in Melbourne and Geelong 153,000 bales have been sold at an increase of 29 per cent, while in Sydney 75,000 bales have been sold at an increase of 50 per cent. A total of 40,000 bales were sold in Adelaide and there also it shows satisfactory increase on previous season.
