The Signboard Agitation.

.' CAMBRIDGE, thia day. ; Considerable irritation has been caused_in the public mind of Cambridge by the erection of a huge signboard on the ground adjoining the public hall, leased for £5 by Thomas Wells to put agricultural implements on. On this signboard was painted in red aw_ black letters the words "T. Wells, farming implement and machinery dep&t." _ . Various tradesmen and others promenaded the street this morning, and cast angry glances at T. Wells' signboard. Ultimately, the Public Hall Committee met and passed the following resolution: " That the secretary inform Mr Wells that no permission being granted to |erect a signboard on tho ground leased by him, adjoining tho Public jHall,- he remove the same by four o*clock to-day. At four o'clock, it is said, the offending sign-post is to be cut down. Some excitement is impending.
